There are two types of people I’ve always come across: Ones who are in favor of owning a smartwatch, and the rest are those who believe it is a waste of money since you don’t really need one. I, for one, stand with the former as I believe that a smartwatch has a huge role to play in your everyday life and holds a lot of importance in this digital world.
I’ll tell you about some of the benefits that you have when you own a smartwatch so that maybe you can decide on getting one for yourself too.
Here’s everything you need to know.
It Helps You Stay Ahead of Time
Gone are the days when you had to rely on your phone to set alarms, timers, and reminders for yourself so that you wouldn’t forget important events. If I talk about myself, I honestly can’t wake up from a phone alarm alone.
The best part about a smartwatch is that its alarms sync up with your phone. In my case whenever I have to wake up, not only does my phone ring up, but my watch does as well. But it’s actually the vibration of the watch that finally wakes me up.
So, if you’re looking for a complete time management device on your wrist, then that’s definitely a smartwatch.
It Keeps You Up-to-Date with Your Notifications
As long as your smartwatch is connected to the internet, you can get all your notifications on your smartwatch, so that you don’t have to whip out your phone over and over again.
However, remember that an internet connection is essential for this, so make sure that your home has a reliable internet service so that you get all of your notifications.
I recommend that you look into Xfinity Internet plans so that you can get a budget-friendly internet connection at home and connect all your devices to it. This way you can ensure that all your devices get notifications at the same time so that you don’t miss out on anything.
These notifications typically include your WhatsApp messages, emails, and basically any other app that WearOS or WatchOS supports.
You Can Control Your Music from Your Wrist
Another thing that I found highly helpful about a smartwatch is that you can download Spotify on it and control your music from your wrist. This is very helpful in situations such as driving a car or riding a bike so that you don’t have to take out your phone to pause, play, or skip a song, or access your playlists.
In fact, I also find it easy to use Spotify during my workouts at the gym, so I don’t have to unlock my phone to do so. I can also access all of my playlists and change the playing mode between normal, shuffle, or repeat which makes the whole process very convenient.
It Makes it Easier to Take Calls
Sometimes when I’m driving or riding a bike, I find it pretty difficult to take out my phone whenever someone is calling me. However, lucky for me that whenever I have my smartwatch on, so I can see who is calling me so that I can pick up the call, decline it, or just leave an automated message that I’ll get back to them later.
Not only does this, let me concentrate as I drive a car or ride a bike but it also allows me to respond to calls as soon as possible in cases of emergencies. Not only is a smartwatch great for talking on calls but I can also send voice notes on WhatsApp since the process is as easy as ABC.
It Helps You Track Your Sleep
I’ve always been conscious about my sleep since I believe that your body can only function properly when you have a well-rested mind. As a working individual, a good night’s sleep often seems like a myth to me. However, my smartwatch always lets me keep track of how much sleep I am getting.
I don’t know how it offers such accuracy but it amazes me every single time. My smartwatch is able to tell me the exact times when I was in light sleep, deep sleep, REM sleep, and even when I was awake.
My goal usually is to get at least 7 hours of sleep and the watch helps me check how much I slept during the night.
It’s Great for Making Payments
I won’t lie to you, I’m a total klutz.
I’m so forgetful that I usually end up heading outside without taking my wallet, which basically has all my credit cards. Having both my phone and smartwatch proves to be a blessing in disguise every time. The NFC in both of my devices makes them act like a virtual card and I can pay using both.
However, I mostly prefer using my watch to pay since all I have to do is tap my wrist on the card machine, and voila! I don’t even have to take out my phone to pay!
These were some great things among many that make a smartwatch a must-have. So, make sure that you get a smartwatch at your earliest convenience so that you can make the most out of the experience as well!
